The next recordings were worse than anyone expected. Emails appeared on the screen, followed by voice notes and signed documents showing how Nathan had used Elena’s name to open doors with donors, investors, and public figures, all while planning to discard her after the wedding.

Several guests stood up in shock.

One investor at the front table turned to his attorney and said, “Freeze the agreement immediately.”

A charity director Elena had worked with for years covered her mouth, horrified that her organization had nearly been used as part of Nathan’s scheme. Reporters who had been invited to cover the glamorous wedding began recording the screen. Diane tried to shout over the audio, but her panic only made her look guiltier.

Nathan grabbed Elena’s arm and hissed, “Do you have any idea what you’ve done?”
