While the guests expected Elena to run from the room in shame, she pressed one button on her screen. A second later, the massive projector at the front of the ballroom flickered to life.

At first, people assumed it was another wedding slideshow. Then the screen showed security footage from Nathan’s private office.

The ballroom fell silent.

Nathan’s face drained of color.

Diane’s smile vanished.

On the screen, Nathan appeared in a private meeting with two business partners, speaking casually as though no one would ever hear him. His voice carried clearly through the speakers as he admitted that marrying Elena had been “useful” because her connections, planning, and public image had helped repair the Hale family’s reputation after a failed investment scandal.

Gasps spread across the room.

Then came the next clip.

Diane appeared beside him, telling Nathan to continue the wedding long enough to secure a major partnership tied to Elena’s charity network. She laughed as she called Elena “easy to manage” and said that once the deal was signed, they could quietly push her out with a humiliating divorce narrative.

Elena stood in the center of the ballroom, soaked in humiliation but no longer powerless.

Nathan lunged toward the projector controls, but one of Elena’s friends stepped in front of him.

“Let it play,” she said.

And it did.
